These are the standards every guide on Profession HQ follows.
Sources
- Pay and job outlook come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook and its wage data. Figures state the year they describe.
- Tasks, tools, and technology come from O*NET OnLine and from the documentation of the software named.
- Licensing and certification requirements come from the body that grants them, such as a state board, AAPC, ASQ, or the American Board of Radiology.
- Hiring processes for specific employers come from the employer's own career pages. When an employer doesn't publish its process, the guide says so and describes what's typical for that kind of job.
- Every guide lists its sources at the end.
When a job isn't its own BLS category, the guide names the closest category it used.
Accuracy
A number, requirement, or process detail that can't be verified in a reliable source is left out. Medical, legal, and law enforcement guides get extra checking on training paths, licensing, and scope of practice, because mistakes there have real consequences.
Guides don't copy other websites' question lists or answers.
Sample answers and example letters
Sample interview answers and example cover letters are illustrations. The people, employers, and numbers in them are invented. They show what a strong answer includes: specific tools, measurable results, and situations the job involves.
Don't submit an example as your own. Hiring managers read many applications, and a letter with your real details will do better than a copied one.
General guidance
Guides describe how jobs and hiring usually work in the United States. Requirements vary by state, employer, and year. Before you act on licensing or pay information, check with the licensing body or employer.
Profession HQ doesn't give individual legal, financial, or medical advice.
Updates and corrections
Guides are reviewed when their underlying data changes, such as a new BLS release or a change to a certification exam. To report an error, email contact@professionhq.com with the page link and the correction.
